ASME Student Chapter, Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram and The Institution of Engineers (India), Kerala State Centre are pleased to announce The National Conference on Computational Heat Transfer, Fluid Flow and Energy Systems, scheduled to be conducted on 19th and 20th January 2018, in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

The conference will be hosted by Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram. The conference aims at bringing together a number of leading experts in this part of the nation on to a common platform to discuss and share their researches and expertise in the frontier areas of Thermal, Fluid and Energy Engineering. The conference includes keynote presentations in addition to contributed oral presentations.

Host Institution: SCTCE Thiruvananthapuram

Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering (SCTCE), Thiruvananthapuram, was established by the Govt. of Kerala in the year 1995 in memoriam of the Great Maharaja of Travancore and is affiliated to the University of Kerala with AICTE approval. The institution has the broad objective of being an active agent of change by responding to the needs and challenges of the times by grooming young men and women into technocrats through the process of engineering education, training and research.

SCTCE is one of the few colleges in the state which had been accredited twice by NBA for all the major courses and ISO 9001:2008 certified. SCTCE is also having the privilege of of being one of the few colleges in the state aided under the World Bank funded Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP).

Department of Mechanical Engineering is the biggest department in terms of student and faculty strength and conducts three UG programmes and one PG programme under its aegis. The student chapter of ASME was formed in 2016 and is active in organizing events to instil the student interest in this discipline.

Institution of Engineers Thiruvananthapuram

The Institution of Engineers (India) or IEI is the largest multidisciplinary professional body that encompasses 15 engineering disciplines and gives engineers a global platform for sharing professional knowledge and interest. IEI has membership strength of more than 0.7 million. Established in 1920, with its headquarters at 8, Gokhale Road, Kolkata -700020, IEI has served the engineering fraternity for over nine decades. In this period of time it has been inextricably linked with the history of modern-day engineering.

IEI was incorporated in 1935 by Royal Charter and remains the only professional body in India to be accorded this honour. Today, its quest for professional excellence has given it a place of pride in almost every prestigious and relevant organization across the globe. IEI functions among professional engineers, academicians and researchers. It provides a vast array of technical, professional and supporting services to the Government, Industries, Academia and the Engineering fraternity, operating from 105 Centres located across the country.

Kerala State Centre (KSC) started functioning from 1947 onwards and has completed 69 years of service to all Engineers both academic and practising. There are 5 Local Centres of IEI Kerala State Centre at Kochi, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode and Kollam.

The Kerala State Centre is located in the heart of Thiruvananthapuram city. The Kerala State Centre is conducting technical talks every Wednesday without fail for the last 16 years and it is a unique activity. Technical Workshops, Seminars, Technical Exhibitions, National Seminars on various Engineering branches are frequently conducted in this Institution. There is a separate division called CERCON (Centre for Continuing Education, Research and Consultancy Services) for conducting classes and technical consultancy

Call for Paper Presentations

Original research papers relevant to any of the specified themes of the conference, in the format as specified in the conference website may be submitted on or before Jan 6, 2017. Full text of accepted papers will be intimated. All accepted papers will be published in the form of conference proceedings. Selected Papers shall be published in IEI National Journal.
